SPR are proud to be working in partnership with an established client to recruit for Qualified Outreach Tutors based within and the surrounding areas of the South/EastStaffordshire region.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate individual with a commitment to providing personalised teaching and adaptability to students of varying ages and understanding. Additionally, this candidate will have great organisational, communication and listening skills.
Essential Requirements:
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • Full, clean, UK drivers license with access to own vehicle with business insurance.
  • QTS (Qualified Teaching Status) Qualification, with at least 2 years post qualification experience in teaching/learning.
  • Ability to teach students of all ages at varying levels of understanding and proficiency.
  • Experience assessing the progress of assigned students to ensure effective processes.
  • Professional experience preparing lesson plans and personalised instruction. 
  • Education in teaching methodology, theory, and processes.
  • Theoretical and practical understanding of the subject to be taught. 
  • Experience of working with children and young people with additional and complex support needs.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with additional and complex support needs.
  • Thorough understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection.
Responsibilities of the Outreach Tutor:
  • Schedule tutoring appointments with parents/carers and students
  • Create educational materials to further demonstrate subject matter covered in the tutoring sessions
  • Assess the academic progress of assigned students against benchmarks
  • Assess and support the social and emotional progress of assigned students
  • Plan creative lessons to engage and educate students
  • Establish a friendly, encouraging, and welcoming environment for students
  • Connect with parents/carers to keep them informed of their child’s progress and areas of improvement
  • Collaborate with the student’s family to ensure a smooth transition from home learning/alternative provision to mainstream setting
