Outdoor Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic Outdoor Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated SEN School based in Romsey, Hampshire to help support pupils with SEMH & Behavioural Needs. This is a great opportunity, to help enrich and develop vulnerable young peoples lives.

You will be working with an excellent team and joining a fantastic provision where you can make a difference, playing a key role in the development of students.

The successful candidate will be working with pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education and with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) The school offers a great range of outdoor activities through their Active Curriculum including: Cycling, Orienteering, Multi-Sports and more.

This is an excellent opportunity for Graduates looking to pursue a career in teaching but would also be suited to those from a sports coaching background with badges.

Contract Details for Outdoor Teaching Assistant:

  • Location: Romsey, Hampshire
  • Position: Outdoor Teaching Assistant
  • Type of work: Outdoor Teaching Assistant
  • Start date: September 2024 / ASAP
  • Contract type: Temp/Perm
  • Full time/part time: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Minimum rate of pay: £95.00-£110 per day

Experience, Training and Qualifications needed for Outdoor Teaching Assistant role:

  • Previous Texperience is ideally required within the SEN Sector, although this is not essential providing you have the right attitude and desire.
  • Previous experience working with challenging behaviour would be advantageous
  • Pro Active in and outside the classroom and a willingness to join in with class activities
  • You should have lots of energy and enthusiasm with a positive attitude towards working with SEN students.
  • GCSEs: English & Maths
  • Degree or Relevant Qualifications ideally
  • Coaching Badges: Level 1 or higher

To be eligible to work as Outdoor Teaching Assistant through Prospero Teaching you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
