Our client is a prominent player in the logistics industry, dedicated to providing exceptional freight forwarding services to a diverse clientele. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Supervisor to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.

Position Overview:

As an Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our client's logistics activities. You will be responsible for overseeing the operational team, coordinating tasks and resources, and maintaining a high standard of service delivery to customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within the freight forwarding industry is advantageous
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and Word. Familiarity with AS400, Outlook, and ASM Sequoia is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and motivational skills, with the ability to delegate tasks, lead by example, and make sound judgments.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and proficiency in planning, executing, and completing tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Self-initiative and the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of operational procedures and the capability to identify areas for improvement, change, or update.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to oversee others effectively.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and leadership.
  • Flexibility to accommodate operational projects as per company requirements.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational team to ensure they meet customer needs and requirements effectively.
  • Manage staff workload and provide cover during operational requirements.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Customer Profiles.
  • Delegate tasks efficiently to the operational team, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
  • Maintain effective communication with the team, other departments, and branches.
  • Address customer queries promptly and professionally, resolving issues to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform under pressure, organizing and prioritizing tasks accordingly.
  • Motivate team members to achieve departmental goals and maintain high levels of productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Manager with month-end and reporting tasks.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by the management team.
