The opportunity
Our client has seen unprecedented growth year on year, particularly through their online sales stream and the subsequent opening of a new European depot as well as continuous expansion of their site in Great Yarmouth resulting in a brand new, larger factory facility.
As an Operations Manager, you'll be the pivotal force behind the day-to-day management of site operations, your role will involve optimising operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Reporting directly to the Managing Director to implement strategic initiatives across various departments, including production, finance, supply chain, and HR.
Duties will include the overseeing of;
- Production & Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations. Manage audits, risk assessments, and external compliance checks.
- Supply Chain: Minimise inventory and optimise supply chain efficiency. Guide purchasing decisions.
- Logistics/Warehouse: Negotiate transport contracts, coordinate Customs, ensure warehouse compliance.
- Finance: Manage cash flow, budgets and implement cost-saving and revenue optimisation strategies.
- New Product Development: Lead new product development and certification processes.
- Human Resources: Oversee staff training, HR issues, and performance management.
- Projects: Plan and implement strategic projects with leadership.

You:
…will have excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage over a cross functional site. You will have a strong commercial focus with the ability to look at further development strategies for the business. You will ideally have experience within a similar role and BRC/SALSA knowledge would be the hugely advantageous. Having worked in food/raw ingredients and a proven track record of driving operational excellence will be essential.
