A manufacturer of high-end and high-value components sold to both Automotive and Yellow Goods clients globally is now seeking a contract Operations Manager. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and maximising efficiency across the plant. In return, the successful professional will be provided with a competitive hourly rate (outside of IR35), flexible working hours, and the chance of a long-term contract past the initial 6-month period.

Operations Manager duties include -

  • Indirect management of a large team - Production, Engineering, and Quality.
  • Maintaining and building teams, driving the correct training, coaching, and development
  • Producing detailed, high-quality regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Management of high-value projects and improvement of the overall performance of the site.
  • Promoting the right culture and identifying, leading, and driving all lean and continuous improvement
  • Planning and forecasting budgets and liaising with other management on P&L control.
  • Implementing and maintaining the highest standards of quality control, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.

Operations Manager desirable skills and experience -

  • Proven success in a leadership role within a fast moving manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to lead, motivate, and collaborate effectively.
  • A strategic mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • An understanding of global market dynamics and the ability to adapt to change.
  • A commitment to sustainability, quality, and safety standards.
  • Mechanical engineering degree (HNC/HND), or other relevant engineering training.
