A progressive Operations Accountant opportunity has arisen with a growing business in Norwich. Reporting into the Financial controller, this broad and involved role will hold responsibility for daily technical accounting matters, regular tax topics and reporting. Support with the preparation of monthly Management Accounts and annual statutory accounts for 2 companies

Main duties include:

  • Ownership and reconciliation of technical accounting areas on the balance sheet, including Fixed Assets, VAT and employee PAYE
  • Main contact between Operational Teams, HR and external Payroll company on employee payroll and company property matters
  • Support with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Documenting and maintaining own procedures and processes
  • Engage with the management and operational teams to provide financial analysis, support and recommendations
  • Seek process efficiencies and opportunities to maximise profitability and cash
  • Review of monthly VAT submissions to HMRC
  • Carry out any other reasonable task(s) requested by your line manager or the company, including cover for holiday or other absences
  • Apply professional accounting knowledge to all responsibilities and communicate to Finance manager regarding topics which require further detailed review
  • Support the Finance Manager with the development of an internal controls and compliance culture
