Summary

Our national client is looking for an experienced & driven Operations Director to head up a multidivisional team within an expanding and extremely successful company in the service industry. The successful person will be joining the senior management team, reporting directly to the MD and will be responsible for overseeing and developing their area/team (through direct reports) across different divisions in the South of England with a multi-million-pound budget/turnover.

Operations Director Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high performing area of the business (circa 100 FTE), ensuring efficient delivery of services across all operations and that they are cost-effective, meet SLA’s and achieve targets
  • Work closely alongside the MD, setting strategic goals and making operational decisions
  • Evaluating, interpretating and analysing data & metrics within your area to measure and improve performance
  • Lead, train, support and develop your team to ensure their progression in the business
  • Manage operational budget circa £10m, ensuring future profitability through SLA performance reviews, adjusting operational budgets as required and forecasting current and potential business levels
  • Manage relationships and contracts with external partners, vendors, and clients
  • Review, revise, and implement processes and procedures to meet business objectives

Requirements

We are looking for an Operations Director from a service-based environment (not product or manufacturing). Ideally, you will have experience in construction, facilities (cleaning/security/maintenance), property/repairs, telecoms (installations/repairs), IT support or a similar service-based environment.

Key skills required;

  • Extensive operational management/leadership experience at a similar level
  • Strong commercial acumen in a service-based industry
  • Analytical thinker (detail/data orientated)
  • Experience leading a similar sized team (circa 100 FTE) or more
  • Process driven
  • Experience of managing multi -million-pound budgets
  • Solid understanding of diverse business functions (supply chain, finance, customer service)
