Norse Care is Norfolk’s largest care provider, providing compassionate, high-quality, award-winning care and support for over 1,500 people in residential care homes, housing with care and independent living schemes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional and forward-thinking leader to join the organisation as Operations Director. As Operations Director, you will play an integral role in developing and shaping the business for a sustainable future.

This is a key leadership and management position, working together with Regional Directors, the Business Development Director, and the Senior Director of Care to ensure regulatory compliance and oversight of our care governance framework and quality standards.

As Nominated Individual, you will ensure oversight of the care delivery and all aspects of operations across NorseCare’s 36 services. You will responsible for managing and developing performance strategies whilst ensuring they are implemented within defined timescales and commercial and financial budgetary requirements.

Main Duties of the role include:

  • Sharing knowledge and expertise on care legislation, best practice and operational initiatives to develop and grow the team.
  • Ensuring high quality care delivery and excellent customer satisfaction is embedded in NorseCare service.
  • Leading on projects, including transformation and key service improvements.
  • Providing strategic direction and leadership to your team, role modelling a positive culture and living NorseCare values.
  • Developing a full range of key performance indicators, reporting on progress and achievements to the Senior Director of Care.
  • Managing care budgets, working with finance teams to monitor, review and agree budgets whilst successfully achieving targets.
  • Building strong, professional relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Working closely with other Directors to implement strategic plans and objectives.

Ideal Skills and Experience:

You will have previous experience working at a Senior Management / Director level within a complex business, alongside this you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Significant experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, with excellent professional values and leadership skills, delegating management responsibility appropriately whilst ensuring accountability.
  • Previous experience working within the health and social care sector, or similar industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the industry including CQC compliance and regulations.
  • Management of a range of projects, influencing and negotiating to achieve agreed outcomes in set timeframes.
  • Degree educated within a relevant discipline or hold equivalent professional management qualifications / experience.
  • Excellent people and change management skills.
  • Full driving licence to meet the travel requirements of the role.
