Role Overview

The candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of Business As Usual (BAU) activities within the Contracts and Documentation team whilst supporting the Head of Client Lifecycle in a fast paced Financial Services environment. In particular, this role requires the successful candidate to assist with the checking, papering and repapering of client agreements such as MiFID letters, Terms of Business, Non-Disclosure and Give Up Agreements within TPICAP providing them with great exposure in the Inter Broker Dealer space.

Role Responsibilities

  • Providing valuable support in the handling of legal matters and all aspects of contract processing, review, and databasing
  • Review existing documentation to ensure that broker, desk & venue rate cards are maintained in accordance with existing & newly negotiated client agreements
  • Support the business in the drafting and executing of client contracts (give-up agreements)
  • Stakeholder management for liaising with Deskheads, Front Office teams, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Client Onboarding and Project management leads.
  • Central administration for all negotiations undertaken by our businesses
  • Innovative ideas on driving change within the team to make processes more efficient
  • To support the Client Lifecyle Senior Manager in the ongoing identification of process and system improvement along with automation opportunities that will drive efficiencies and effectiveness throughout the team
  • Preparation and periodic completion of management information reports for allocated processes/services in preparation for senior operations management reviews
  • Reporting and MI on tasks undertaken by the team to provide full transparency to stakeholders
  • Training junior colleagues on team processes
  • Overseeing the execution of tasks for junior colleagues, ensuring timely delivery to quality and agreed service levels
  • Provide feedback on suggestions for process enhancements to senior management
  • Drive a positive culture within the team by supporting all team members in their daily tasks
Experience / Competences

Essential
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, possesses high organisation skills & a proactive approach
  • Demonstrates strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a high pressure environment
  • Highly effective written & oral communication skills; adapts communication style to suit audience
  • Significant experience of working in fast paced or pressured environments
  • Highly killed in Microsoft applications software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Significant experience of financial markets
  • Significant experience in a similar organisation
  • Significant experience in training / mentoring junior colleagues
  • Significant experience in overseeing colleagues work
  • Strong understanding of risk and controls
  • Demonstrated experience of identifying, prioritising and implementing change
  • Demonstrated experience in succession planning, resource prioritisation & staffing management
  • Significant experience in Contracts
  • Experience negotiating any legal/commercial contracts is a must. Some examples include non-disclosure agreements, Terms of Business and ISDAs.
  • Generally speaking, experience in financial services industry within a legal role is strongly preferred but not essential. E.g. experience in an out and out law practice is also fine.
  • Easily evidenced client facing experience and stakeholder management.
  • Experience providing training for junior staff would be a great benefit.

  • Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
  • Having studied law at University would be a benefit but not a necessity
