MRD Recruitment is actively looking for an Operational Cluster Manager to work on a permanent basis for our Logistics client. This role is based in Ayrshire and reports into the Regional Manager.

The successful Operational Cluster Manager, based in Ayrshire, will be responsible for the profitable delivery of a devolved profit and loss account, within service and contract requirements.

Job requirements:

  • Responsibility and oversight of day-to-day running of the site, retaining a detailed understanding of the operations at all times;
  • Oversee consistent delivery of all KPI's such as deliveries and returns
  • Daily analysis of the Delivery performance and detailed feedback on both successful or unsuccessful routing and scheduling given to the planning team;
  • Ensure a significant level of employee engagement is taking place, including regular feedback, 1:1s and team meetings;
  • Provide assurance on the management of sickness and absence of all team members, ensuring that all relevant documentation is fully completed;
  • Ensure annual leave is planned and managed well in advance;
  • Manage the staff rota and ensure the required levels of resilience at all times;
  • Plan weekend resources and ensure resilience in place to deliver all services;
  • Liaise regularly and build relationships with stakeholders;
  • Build and maintain relationships and communication with the team;
  • Ensure any instances of non-compliance, negative conduct or failed duties are immediately logged and escalated to their line manager;
  • Provide cover within the role of General Manager as required

KEY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Strong operational management experience
  • Understanding of how to create a high-performing team.
  • Familiar with a high-pace, target-driven working environment.
  • Significant experience of working within a short lead-time environment.
  • The ability to drive change and operational improvement within a diverse business.
  • Confident in challenging the status-quo.
  • Ability to receive both positive and negative feedback and provide a balanced response.
  • Fully competent in the use of management information tools and has the ability to present data in an appropriate fashion.
  • Understands how to manage the workflow of a team and deliver outputs continually and consistently.
