Freightserve recruitment are looking for an Operations and Compliance person for a well established Airline GSA company. The role are is based in the Gatwick area.

Overall Purpose:-

The Operations & Compliance Team are responsible for delivering the Cargo Operation ensuring that Safety, Compliance and the Customer are kept at the forefront of all Operational decisions. Providing valuable insight to internal and external customers and making decisions to prevent Cargo safety & compliance breeches, Customs fines, backlogs and offloads.

The Operations and Compliance Officer will ensure the day to day running of the operation is executed, by issuing directives to GHAs, GSSAs, and Jettainer. Customs compliance will be completed through the use of the CHAMP and Awery systems allowing the compliant carriage of cargo to prevent fines and or the holding / delaying of Customs clearance at destination.

· Ensure approvals are obtained for all shipments travelling to the U.S. at a MAWB and HAWB level using Awery and Champ systems. Monitor all shipments to ensure message received via Champ and advise local GHA that shipments are clear to travel.

· Ensure EU-ICS2 approvals are obtained for all shipments travelling into the EU at a MAWB and HAWB level using Awery and Champ systems. Monitor all shipments to ensure message received via Champ and all Customs approvals received. Notify local GHAs that shipments are clear to travel.

100% of all MAWBs and HAWBs receive approval to ship and zero fines received.

Supplier Management:-

· Direct the ULD supplier …. Support with the movement of equipment around the network to ensure stock levels at each station meet the demand required for daily operations.

· Provide daily support with our GHA at LGW to ensure all flights are maximized and any operational issues are rectified allowing all freight to move as planned.

No offloads due insufficient stocks of equipment. Ensuring demand for Forwarders sending Shipper Built Units are covered and requests to collect units can be supported.

Ensure any offloads at LGW have been assessed and no action could have been taken to move as planned.

Customer Service:-

· Provide feedback to external customers (Airline, Freight Forwarders)

Speak to Customers if Fish bookings no show, Liaise with DHL regarding late running Shipper built units.

Support GSSAs with any AMS issues at destination to try and resolve and achieve clearance.

Provide Customer support by moving shipments that might otherwise have been offloaded.

Gain Customs Clearance to speed up collection and avoid delays and additional storage charges at destination.

· 5 years operational aircargo experience / background

· Knowledge customs

· 2 years experience with load planning, weight & balance

· Trained in Dangerous Goods incl certificate

· Experience to deal with different systems

· Problem solving

· Customer driven

Relevant to the job:

Working in shifts including weekends (06.00 - 14.30 / 12.00 - 20.00)
