Overview:

We are partnered with a young & dynamic forwarder who is seeking an Ocean Export Operator to join their team in Liverpool. This position plays a crucial role in coordinating and managing the export of goods via ocean freight, ensuring timely and efficient delivery while adhering to all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of international shipping procedures.

Ocean Export Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Export Shipments: Facilitate the export process for ocean freight shipments from origin to destination, ensuring compliance with company procedures and international regulations.
• Documentation Management: Prepare and process all necessary export documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding their export shipments, providing timely updates on shipment status, documentation requirements, and any potential issues or delays.
• Carrier Liaison: Communicate with ocean carriers to book shipments, obtain freight rates, and coordinate container pickups and deliveries. Maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure reliable service.
• Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with all customs regulations and requirements for export shipments, including tariff classifications, export controls, and trade sanctions.
• Cargo Tracking: Monitor and track the movement of export cargo throughout the shipping process, proactively identifying and resolving any issues or delays to ensure on-time delivery.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on export documentation and shipping instructions to minimize errors and ensure accuracy in shipment processing.
• Cost Management: Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate billing and invoicing for export shipments, including verifying freight charges, surcharges, and other fees.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the export operations function, implementing best practices to enhance overall performance.
