Role Overview: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Obstetrics & Gynaecology Specialty Registrar (SPR) who is RECOG-qualified to join our team. As an SPR in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality care to women during pregnancy, childbirth, and various gynaecological conditions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive and compassionate care to patients, contributing to positive patient outcomes and experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical care and management of obstetric and gynaecological patients, including antenatal and postnatal care, labour ward management, and gynaecological procedures.
  • Perform gynaecological surgeries, such as hysterectomy, ovarian cystectomy, and laparoscopic procedures, under consultant supervision.
  • Participate in obstetric emergencies, including the management of high-risk pregnancies, obstetric complications, and neonatal resuscitation.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics, consultations, and assessments, offering advice, counselling, and treatment options to patients with gynaecological issues.
  • Collaborate with consultants, junior medical staff, midwives, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Engage in teaching and training activities for junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals, contributing to medical education and training programs.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research projects, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Requirements:
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.
  • Completion of speciality training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and attainment of RECOG (Recognition of Completion of Training) status.
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in obstetric and gynaecological care, including experience in labour ward management and surgical procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centred care, empathy, and compassion towards patients and their families.
  • Strong clinical decision-making abilities, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to clinical practice.
