Nursery Manager

Our client based in Fleet and is part of an established chain of family run day nurseries. They are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to join their lovely 45 place setting. This is a wonderful opportunity to join this very comfortable setting and their tight-knit team where all staff members are fully trained. Your standard working week would be 41 hour week over 4.5 days, 51 weeks of the year. There may be some flexibility in terms of working hours/ shift pattern.

An exciting and rewarding role, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful day to day management of this beautiful nursery all whilst gaining a crash course insight into how we run. This includes selling nursery places to prospective parents, inducting new staff, managing Ofsted inspections and monitoring the curriculum and standards of care provided within the nursery.

This role will require you to:

  • Be responsible for and oversee the day to day management, staffing, organisation and smooth running of the nursery. This includes jumping into ratio and supporting in the rooms when needed.
  • Have a proven track record of successful management experience and Ofsted outcomes.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the EYFS, policies, procedures and the latest Ofsted trends. This includes up to date training on Fundamental British Values, the Prevent Duty, FGM and GDPR.
  • Work closely with the Directors and Area Manager to 'strive towards our Outstanding’ ready for our next Ofsted inspection.
  • Follow the welfare requirements to ensure continuing compliance with all nursery policies.
  • Be hardworking, pro-active and lead by example. You will have great ideas and be able to work well as part of a team. You will be excellent at mentoring and supporting your team to praise their strengths and to build on their weaknesses.
  • Work hard to promote and facilitate a high standard of parent partnership. This includes responding to any parent comments or complaints in a professional manner.
  • Maintain and further develop professional relationships with the relevant local authority and multi-agencies, including our excellent relationship with the local infant school.
  • Supervise and monitor your staff’s standard of work (planning, reports, etc) and deliver monthly staff meetings and support where needed, including staff supervisions.
  • Be computer literate, in order to track staff timesheets, holiday entitlement, Bradford factors and to use Tapestry- our online learning journal portal.
  • Be innovative in your approach to problem solving and ideas for the nursery.
  • Have a solid knowledge of and be committed to ensuring the safeguarding of those in your care.

To join us, you need a minimum Level 3 in Childcare and at least 2 year’s management experience and ideally up-to-date Safeguarding and First Aid training. A high level of written and verbal English is essential, as well as basic ICT skills.

Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum + £5,000 PRP
