Position: Nursery Manager to lead the set up and management of a new nursery/chain of nurseries.

Location: Newcastle/Gateshead/North Tyneside/South Tyneside/Sunderland

Job Type: Full-time

I am working with a property developer who is dedicated to setting up a chain of new nurseries across the north-east They are dedicated to providing exceptional care and educational experiences for children aged 0-5 years. Their aim is to create a nurturing environment where children can grow, learn, and thrive.

Job Summary: They are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead the setup and management of a new nursery/chain of nurseries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent leadership skills, and a vision for creating an innovative learning environment. They must have previous nursery management experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Setup: Initially, this will involve coordinating the setup of the brand new nursery facility, working with the developer on the build and then ensuring it is safe, welcoming, and conducive to learning.
  • Develop and Implement Curriculum: Design an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise nursery staff, ensuring a high standard of care and education.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, including budgeting, scheduling, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, keeping them informed and involved in their children’s progress and nursery activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and education provided, implementing improvements as necessary.

Initially, the majority of the role will involve working from home in preparation for the nursery opening with regular meetings with the owner of the property company. Once the nursery is set up and fully functioning, there will be further opportunities to extend the nursery chain.

Qualifications required for the Nursery Manager role:

  • Hold a relevant Early Childhood Education qualification- minimum level 4.
  • Proven experience in nursery or preschool management.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early years learning frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • First Aid and other certifications.
