An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Nursery Assistant to join a nursery setting in Pontefract. This position, offered on a full-time basis, is temporary and will commence immediately after the February half term. The role will be facilitated through the reputable supply agency, Accelerate Teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Childcare and Supervision: Provide a nurturing and safe environment for children, ensuring their well-being and attending to their individual needs.
  • Curriculum Support: Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate curriculum activities, fostering the intellectual and social development of the children.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Record-Keeping: Keep accurate records of children's progress, development, and any notable incidents, adhering to confidentiality policies.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold stringent health and safety standards, ensuring the nursery environment is hazard-free and conducive to the well-being of all children.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with the nursery team to deliver high-quality childcare and contribute to a positive and inclusive working atmosphere.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Proven experience working in a nursery setting, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of childcare principles.
  • Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to engage positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Current and valid enhanced DBS check.
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training.
