The Role

Team member driving the NPD agenda for Branded Category or a Retailer Brand Account, across Sofina Europe Seafood & Pork divisions. Manage projects, and where applicable direct reports to ensure internal and external customer expectations are met, by working with all relevant functions within the business to ensure compliance in terms of food technology, quality, hygiene, safety legality, within cost requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Interpret and deliver the approved NPD/EPD NIRFs as required
• End to end ownership for NPD/EPD projects to be managed, communicated, and progressed through the business from NIRF to full launch approval
• Responsible for costing of new products and setting of standards
• Ensure robust process and full due diligence is always followed, raise any divergence from process, and work to rectify with identified internal partners
• Drive strong relationships with key Customers and key suppliers
• Fully engage with the key project team to ensure best decision making process is in place to deliver the NPD or regeneration plans
• Mentor and develop direct reports, ensure PDRs are completed on time

Skills and Experience Required

  • HNC/HND (Food Science or technology) with/or minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Has demonstrated clear vision in establishing a team, including career development, and mentoring skills
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Can demonstrate a track record of developing differentiated products collaborating cooperatively with a multifunctional team
  • Driving license, ability to be agile if required
  • Strong numeracy and a track record of financial accountability
  • Can demonstrate all or some career experience within Innovation in food, and must have a passion for food
Key Challenges
  • Continually reviewing products, process, and Innovation streams to deliver best in class NPD/Innovation where required
  • Working to deliver competitive end of line costs
  • Ensuring all aspects of process are examined for cost out options
  • Full understanding of supply chain and raw materials to deliver advantage in the marketplace
  • Develop and mentor direct reports
