The Recruitment Group is proud to be working with a fantastic engineering company based in Leighton Buzzard. They are looking for a Skilled Night shift Engineer to join their team and take responsibility for looking after various machines.
Purpose of the Night shift Engineer:
• To create a managed and controlled escalation process, engaging and accessing to the different set of skills available within the Engineering department.
• To review all current PPM activities and cycles and control & manage the resources effectively.
• To manage the Engineering department's Repairs & maintenance expenses and to improve the control of the department's spare parts in stock.
Main duties and responsibilities of an Night shift Engineer:
• Measure, manage, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness
• Assisting shift engineers on reactive maintenance
• To define and implement effective PPM Practices
• Implement Autonomous maintenance.
• Apply the principles of quick change-over to reduce set-up losses
• Regularly assess progress in equipment optimization to identify and address improvement opportunities.
• Training and development of co-workers as required i.e., apprentices and other maintenance department staff.
• Engineering Maintenance and fault finding on advanced industrial machinery; including, but not limited to, Injection Moulding machines and assembly lines
• Onsite maintenance and engineering support for site assets to ensure OEE is maximised
• Working on planned preventive maintenance (PPM) Schedules
• Trouble shooting on PLC and Drive systems
• Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and compliant manner
• Working on a shift pattern, as part of a maintenance team providing 24hour, 7-day breakdown services for a busy manufacturing site
• Ability to use CMMS system for maintenance purposes
Experience/knowledge requirements for an Night shift Engineer:
• Level 3 electrical engineer
• Experience in pneumatics and hydraulics
• 18th edition
• Knowledge in Manufacturing or FMCG background
• Engineering knowledge of Injection Moulding Machines and Assembly lines
• Engineering knowledge of Injection Moulding Machine (Essential) and Assembly lines;(desirable but not essential)
• Understanding of Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence tools and techniques
