We are currently recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to work for an NHS Trust based in Bradford. The role is working 37.5hrs per week, initially for a 6 month duration with the definite possibility of extension.

Hours of work (you will be required to work on a ROTA basis):

9am-5pm Mon-Fri

12noon-8pm Mon-Fri

8am-4pm Sat & Sun

Rates of pay:

Mon - Fri: £11.44 per hour

Sat: £16.12 per hour

Sun: £20.93 per hour

The main duties will reverberate around working in an NHS laboratory, making sure that specimens and samples are processed as quickly as possible. This will involve:

  • Sorting and preparing work for diagnostic testing.
  • Processing isolates for antibiotic testing.
  • Sub culturing blood culture positive bottles.
  • Dealing with issues/queries.
  • Disinfecting the equipment and work area.
  • Processing samples.
  • Retrieving and growing organisms in the deep freeze.
  • Reading MRSA plates.
  • Inputting data into the database.

The ideal candidate will have undertaken a similar role previously. However, if you have an educational background in a similar subject area and can work the shifts required, then do not hesitate to apply by using the online method available.
