Neighbourhood Officer 

Temporary January  - April 2024. 

Leatherhead, Surrey 

To provide a generic Neighbourhood and Tenancy Management Service to residents, ensuring that terms and conditions of tenancy are maintained, and Landlord obligations fulfilled. To ensure that the resident experience benchmarks to upper quartile in all aspects for the sector. Be the focal point for all residents within the area that you manage.

Key Tasks

  • To ensure residents comply with all the terms and conditions of their tenancy and carry out intervention and enforcement actions where appropriate.
  • Involve residents in the management of their homes and the areas where they live and to develop meaningful, respectful and collaborative relationships with them.
  • Deal effectively with Expressions of Dissatisfaction and Complaints so that residents feel heard, their issues are resolved, and our service improves, providing a first time fix where possible, in line with our Complaints Policy and Procedures.
  • Manage all internal and external common areas, in partnership with the Property Team and our residents. Ensuring that homes and communities are safe and secure and that health and safety/statutory compliance requirements are managed effectively.
  • Manage anti-social behaviour with the support of your Line Manager, external agencies and legal teams, where necessary.
  • Develop robust relationships with LA’s and external stakeholders.
  • Work with colleagues to provide housing management support to our vulnerable and elderly residents.
  • Safeguard residents and occupants in line with our Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
  • Understand basic home maintenance issues, damp and condensation issues and be able to follow procedures in order to respond to residents.
  • To develop partnerships with statutory and 3rd party agencies to ensure the needs of residents are fulfilled and that neighbourhood and community issues are managed collaboratively.
  • To understand local services and signpost residents to relevant agencies to ensure any vulnerabilities and support needs are addressed.
  • Lead resident participation activities within our communities and deliver excellent and inclusive customer engagement in accordance with Mount Green’s Resident Engagement Strategy and the Together with Tenants Charter.
  • Use multiple communication channels to engage with residents, listen to their views, consult with and inform them.
  • To follow all relevant policies and procedures in the delivery of neighbourhood and tenancy services.

The candidate must:

- Driving licence and car

- Live near or not longer than 30 min drive from our patch ( Reigate, Redhill, Dorking, Ashtead)

- Start asap
