Pertemps are actively seeking a Neighbourhood Officer to join our client’s team on a hybrid working basis in Stafford. As Neighbourhood Officer you will provide effective and efficient neighbourhood management service across three landlords in Shropshire and Staffordshire. Ensuring performance standard and targets are achieved in relation to tenancy management, anti-social behaviour, safeguarding and report on performance.

It is essential that you have a Clean UK driving licenses and access to your own vehicle as you will be required to drive to tenants’ homes in Stafford, and occasionally to the Shropshire offices too.

Hours Mon-Fri, 37hrs p/w | Hybrid working | ASAP Start!
Salary £33,016.43 £17.16p/h + Essential Car User Allowance
Temporary for six months.

Duties not limited to:
  • Identify and manage low level breaches of tenancy (including allegations of antisocial behaviour) promptly and efficiently and provide advice and guidance to tenants to ensure they maintain their tenancy in accordance with the tenancy agreement.
  • Liaise with the Community Safety team to prevent low and medium cases escalating to high risk.
  • Work closely with local Councils, Police, support services and other external agencies to improve multi-agency working and effectively manage Anti-Social Behaviour, Safeguarding, Tenancy Management and Estate Management cases/issues.
  • To be proactive in identifying vulnerable groups or individuals and work with other agencies to provide appropriate support in order to maintain tenancies and reduce tenancy failure.
  • Identify “complex and high-risk tenancies” which could result in high void costs and/or housing management costs.
  • Provide an effective Tenancy and Estate Management service to a diverse range of customers carrying out regular visits, inspections, surgeries, estate walkabouts and/or other community-based activities.
  • Develop and own area plans to increase customer satisfaction, decrease turnover and develop sustainable communities.
  • Identify vulnerable groups or individuals and work with other agencies to provide appropriate support in order to maintain tenancies, reduce tenancy failure and reduce Estate Management issues.
  • To assist in the development and implementation of new services as and when required.
  • Work closely with legal services to prepare legal documentation with regards to enforcement action and to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out to the highest standard and are consistent with best practice, maintaining confidentiality and accurate recording of all info in line with GDPR.
  • To ensure the Group’s policies and procedures are complied with at all times including (but not limited to) mutual exchanges; anti-social behaviour; successions; assignments and pre-transfer inspections.
  • To carry out any other appropriate duties as and when necessary or as requested.

Successful Candidate
  • Experience and knowledge of housing legislation and best practice regarding Estate Management, Grounds Maintenance and / or Fire Risk Assessments / Block Inspections issues.
  • Committed to customer care.
  • Able to build strong working relationships, internally and externally.
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to think ahead and be pro-active on behalf of customers and the business.
  • Confident when tackling difficult situations and able to negotiate resolution.
  • Self-driven to achieve personal and team targets.
  • IT literate and able to use a wide range of software packages.
  • Excellent time management skills and able to work well under pressure whilst prioritising workload.
  • Clean UK driving licenses and access to own vehicle.
