Maintenance Engineer
- Salary Range: £40,000 - £45,000

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our estates engineering team. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and compliant operation of manufacturing services and machinery across our facility. The successful candidate will deliver a high standard of mechanical and electrical services, plan and undertake routine maintenance, and work collaboratively within the team to support all business functions.
Day to Day of the role:
- Perform on-call duties approximately one week per month, including covering for absences.
- Conduct routine planned preventative maintenance within critical and non-critical environments.
- Respond to service requests and close remedial actions promptly.
- Monitor the Maintenance Systems and respond to machinery breakdowns.
- Investigate mechanical/electrical faults, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support installation work and small projects as needed.
- Provide assistance to other team members based on experience and competencies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, health and safety, and GxP standards through proper documentation.
- Manage contractor site inductions and oversee safe commencement of work.
- Propose continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency or reduce costs.
- Assess and manage critical spares, reviewing supply and storage needs.
- Contribute positively to team efforts and raise standards.
- Minimise energy consumption through effective control and use of plant and systems.
- Report feedback to the supervisor as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 3 City & Guilds electrical qualification or above.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Proven engineering experience in a similar regulated environment.
- Multi-skilled in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with steam boilers, VSDs, motor controls, and relay logic.
- Familiarity with AHUs, FCUs, chilled water, and compressed air systems.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Flexibility to work outside standard office hours as needed.
Desirable:
- IOSH qualification.
- Experience in a critical environment.
- Engineering experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of water systems and associated risks (ACoPs L8/water treatment).
