Job Description:

The Multi-Skilled Engineer plays a vital role in their refurbishment projects, overseeing all aspects of construction and installation work to ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set, with expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a wide range of construction and refurbishment work, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical installations, painting, and general building maintenance.
  • Interpret project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine the scope of work and materials required for each project.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify potential challenges or issues, and develop effective solutions to address them.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices, and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Monitor the quality of workmanship and materials used on-site, and take corrective action as necessary to maintain quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers as required, and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Keep accurate records of work activities, including time sheets, material usage, and project progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in interior refurbishments, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Multi-skilled trades background, with expertise in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
  • Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ) in one or more construction trades.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
