I am currently recruiting for a MOT Tester on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Leeds (LS9).

Fleet Services section is responsible for fleet of light commercial, heavy goods and specialist municipal vehicles. You will undertake MOT tests to class IV, V, and VII vehicles, to perform and ensure quality control checks are adhered to the Operator Licence undertakings for inspections and vehicle repairs.

Duties of the MOT Tester will include:

  • Carry out full Vehicle Inspections and tests in accordance with the schedule of testing requirements, Council's conditions and criteria, and construction and use regulations.
  • Conduct Pre and Post MOT test inspections on all vehicle types and record findings on the inspection and defect record
  • Understand and work in line with DVSA guidelines including the Operator Licence and guide to maintaining roadworthiness.
  • Maintain appropriate electronic and manual records on tests carried out and notices and inspection reports as may be required.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • High degree of manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of Motor Vehicle and Construction and Use Regulations
  • Hold a current nominated tester certificate
  • Proficient with MOT computerisation.
  • Appropriate level 3 motor vehicle technician qualification
  • Hold the Dept. of Transport nominated Tester Status
  • Hold a full UK driving licence

This post is full time 37 hours per week. Working hours are 7.15 to 15.45 (Monday to Thursday) and 07.15 to 12.15 (Friday). Pay rate of £30 per hour PAYE.
