Molecular Biologist - Research Scientist

One of our global clients is looking for a Molecular Biologist Scientist to join their R&D Team on a contract basis.

The role is initially for one year contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Follows broad frameworks to operate equipment needed to carry out trial work, and to ensure samples are available and delivered on time.
  • Resolves routine issues with minimal senior staff or supervisory guidance and approval.

Requirements:

  • Must have a degree/PhD in a relevant science discipline. Appropriate technical science background is critical.
  • Must have worked with crop pest arthropods. Ideally, experience with Lepidoptera larvae.
  • Must have experience in insect micro-injections.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Experience with injector systems (such as Nanoject) would be desirable.
  • Experience running bioassays would be desirable.
  • Experience with automated symptomology analysis and/or ADME assays would be desirable.
  • Experience in Analytical Science (e.g., Mass Spectrometry) and data analysis would be desirable.
  • Talent to work effectively with staff at all organisational levels and a creative mind for problem-solving.
  • Team mentality, effective interpersonal and communications skills, influencing colleagues from various disciplines, and guiding junior staff and students.
