My client is looking for an experienced MHE Assessor to join their team based in the West Midlands. The successful individually will play a key role in the training and development of the workforce based out of a key site location.

My client is a Global 3PL Provider, who are looking to bring on board a MHE Assessor within the site in the West Midlands.

My client are currently seeking a dedicated Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Assessor to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, inspecting, and ensuring the safe operation of the FLT driver workforce.

The key responsibilities for the MHE Assessor based in the West Midlands are including but not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and inspections of forklifts and other MHE to verify compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
  • Review MHE hours and fleet utilisation to recommend areas of improvement to Operations and Engineering.
  • Provide comprehensive training and guidance to MHE operators on safe equipment operation, proper handling techniques, and adherence to established protocols.
  • Ensure all MHE operations adhere to regulatory safety standards and company policies, implementing corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop maintenance schedules and procedures, ensuring timely repairs and preventive maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment assessments, operator training sessions, safety inspections, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance and facilitate future assessments.
  • Identify opportunities for improving forklift operations, equipment performance, and safety protocols, implementing enhancements to optimise efficiency and mitigate risks.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures for addressing forklift-related incidents or accidents, ensuring swift and effective response to minimise impact.

The successful candidate for the MHE Assessor position based in the West Midlands will have the following experience, skills and characteristics.

  • GCSE grades 9-5 or equivalent in Maths and English
  • RTITB Lift Truck & Scissor Lift Instructor qualifications are essential.
  • Proven experience in similar role within a logistics or warehouse environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MHE safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

£33,254 + Benefits

Working Hours

Monday - Thursday - 7:30am - 3:30pm

Friday - 7:30am - 2:30pm
