Due to business growth, we’re seeking a skilled Merchandiser to join our innovative lifestyle furniture and bathrooms team at our Huddersfield office. Collaborating closely with the Buying and Web Trading teams, you will play a crucial role in achieving commercial KPIs by optimising our stock position and implementing strategic initiatives to drive sales.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with the Buyer and Web Trader to plan top-line and category-level budgets for sales, profit, and stock, aligning with company and departmental strategies.
  • Generate accurate SKU-level forecasts to plan stock demand effectively.
  • Manage new and repeat orders, ensuring adherence to the sign-off and critical path process for timely delivery and payments.
  • Conduct regular forecasting of category and departmental level weekly sales and stock intake, identifying sales and stock opportunities or risks to plan activities with relevant teams.
  • Maintain communication with our supply base to ensure compliance with lead times and correct shipment processes.
  • Analyse stock productivity and provide recommendations for sales activities to optimise stock performance.
  • Work with Buying and Web Trading teams on future product range strategies, leveraging insights from existing portfolio performance.
  • Independently drive analysis and process improvements to benefit the business unit.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as Operations or IT, on system and process projects to enhance day-to-day productivity and reporting accuracy.
  • Cultivate strong relationships within the department and across the business.

Person Specification:

  • Prior experience in Merchandising, Supply Chain, or Demand Planning within a Retail environment.
  • Understanding of range and trade planning concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Commercially focused with a drive for profitability.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and consistent performance.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organised and structured with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
