Merchandiser - Pets

We are looking for an experienced Merchandiser to join our Buying team, on our Pets category. In this role, you will be working alongside the Buyer with the day-to-day running of a busy department.

The role is based full time at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool L24.

The Key Accountabilities in the role are:

• Working to tight restrictions to ensure stock is maintained throughout the year at the correct levels
• Assisting with the creation of weekly core stock orders, which is the main task of the departments, managing these orders into the business efficiently
• Analysing data from the previous year & current trends to make the right decisions, identifying "gaps" in current market
• Cultivating close working relationships with key suppliers
• Maintain and update WSSI’s & Line cards on a daily basis
• Working to calendars, which involves forecasting crucial lines for long periods
• Being proficient in the use of Excel where the business uses heavily formulated worksheets to manipulate reports into the desired information required

The ideal candidate will have the following experience/skills:

• Already an experienced Merchandiser or a strong Junior Merch who is ready to step up
• Results orientated with a track record of achieving targets & delivering growth
• Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Able to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, methodical with numbers
• Able to utilise data to fully understand customer behaviour and habits
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
