Mental Health TA

A lovely specialist school in Maidenhead have begun their search for a Mental Health TA. The role can be either full time or part time and is to start ASAP.

Your role as a Mental Health TA will look something like this:

  • Encouraging young people to not only process their emotions but to also understand their emotions
  • Helping students to regulate their big feelings
  • Assisting in de-escalating any behaviours
  • While you will be supporting the children with their managing their emotions, you will also be by their side to support them through their school work.
  • You will assist the class teacher to prepare lesson materials, tidy up after lessons are completed, manage general classroom behaviour and support the students through their academic journey

The ideal Mental Health TA:

  • Experience working with children is not essential but desirable
  • Personality is most important - we need individuals who are caring, kind and compassionate
  • You should have good problem solving skills and be able to take initiative well
  • Good relationship building skills will also be advantageous
  • An understanding of safeguarding is of utmost importance
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one
