The Organisation

London Higher is an 'umbrella’ body representing nearly 50 publicly funded universities and higher education institutions in London, as well as several universities with centres in London and a small number of private providers.

We support universities and higher education colleges in the capital to work together to maximise the impact of their work, for instance through delivering joint outreach programmes with schools and colleges or civic initiatives with community partners.

AccessHE is the widening participation division of?London Higher, with the aim of supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds to access and succeed in higher education. We do this by delivering collaborative HE outreach projects and initiatives which help prepare current students for graduate employment.

We are now looking for a Membership and Communities Manager to join us on a part-time basis for a fixed term contract of two years, working either 21 (0.6FTE) or 28 (0.8FTE) hours per week.

The Role

As our Membership and Communities Manager, you will lead the delivery of our member-facing training and events programmes.

Engaging with AccessHE’s wider member and partner communities, you will develop our practitioner network to enhance member engagement and maximise the impact of programme activities, ensuring their needs are met.

You’ll develop a strategy to engage our core communities in our training and professional development work, especially universities and higher education colleges in London. This will be achieved through regular engagement meetings, campus visits and project scoping activities, growing our profile and income.

Additionally, you will:

- Support the development of the communications plan
- Assist with growing AccessHE’s membership and identifying new potential funding streams
- Drive integration of the training and events programme with AccessHE’s outreach projects

About You

To be considered as a Membership and Communities Manager, you will need:

- A track record of successfully managing multiple partners
- Experience of cultivating new external partnerships
- Experience of co-ordinating training, professional development and/or public engagement activities or similar
- Experience of producing communications outputs for external audiences
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

The closing date for this role is the 20th May 2024.
