We are looking for a Medical Administrator to join a dedicated charity who are fighting against blood cancer. This role is crucial in supporting the coordination of medical donations and ensuring a seamless process for both donors and patients.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Notify donors identified as potential matches for patients, educate and consent them for the donation process.
  • Manage pre-testing coordination donations, including scheduling blood tests and liaising with international donor registries.
  • Evaluate donors for medical and non-medical suitability and eligibility.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to manage the coordination of blood tests with hospitals, GPs, and international entities.
  • Maintain accurate donor case notes within internal databases.
  • Collaborate with the head of department to resolve any donor and transplant centre complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with all standards, policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in quality assurance, service improvement projects, and other duties as requested.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of work experience in a busy team/organisation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening and a good phone manner.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation.
  • High degree of sensitivity and empathy.
  • Proactive work ethic with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask and meet clear targets and deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office and experience with large database/CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training and workshops.
  • Understanding of GDPR and donor/patient confidentiality.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the organisation.

Benefits:

  • £34,000 with additional ‘on call’ pay.
