Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Adept are working with a subcontract manufacturing company in Sheffield, who is expanding its Maintenance Department.

Our client are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer/Supervisor to join their team on the day shift. The role involves working with a range of manual and CNC machines, as well as other equipment such as borers and milling machines. Experience in a multidisciplinary manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential.

DAYS ONLY (Monday - Thursday)

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform routine and emergency maintenance work while adhering to health and safety protocols.

- Respond to equipment faults, diagnose issues, and implement solutions.

- Develop maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.

- Install new parts and ensure equipment functionality before returning to production.

- Collaborate with departments and colleagues to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

- Procure fixtures, fittings, or components within budgetary constraints.

- Manage maintenance tools, storage, and equipment.

- Monitor and control maintenance costs.

- Address emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.

- Contribute to the improvement of health and safety policies and procedures.

- Develop maintenance strategies for installations, commissioning, and preventative maintenance.

Skills and Knowledge:

- Strong literacy and basic IT skills.

- Experience in an active engineering environment with a mechanical bias.

- Time served in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.

- Willingness to undergo necessary training for multi-skilling.

- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.

- Familiarity with MEWPs, FLT's, and OHC's is advantageous.

- Possession of a valid driver's license is beneficial.
