An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established company based in Blaydon-On-Tyne!

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Salary: Starting £19 - £21 per hour rising with experience and additional responsibilities.

The Company:

Established 40 years ago, the company are a specialist electrical/mechanical contractor to the electrical supply industry and other large consumers of electricity. The company specialises in repair and refurbishment of power transformers and associated high voltage plant.

Due to a rapidly expanding order book and customer base, they are now looking to employ a Time Served Mechanical Fitter to work in a small multi-skilled team working within high voltage substations throughout the UK.

The Role:

  • Refurbishment, maintenance and installation of Power Transformers and associated equipment throughout the UK
  • Ensuring works are completed to the required standard
  • Ensuring that all safety and quality paperwork is adhered to and completed correctly
  • Completion of training to enhance skills for specific tasks

Candidate Requirement:

Although not essential experience of working on power transformers or within HV substations would be of benefit. A good overall trade knowledge and technical competence is however essential.

Additional information

Most works will be working away from home with occasional weekend and bank holiday working required. Lodging allowance will be paid while away along with nightly expenses. Pay will be competitive and based on experience. Necessary training will be provided the company and the successful applicant may need to carryout authorisation training for various electricity companies throughout the UK.
