Title: Mechanical Engineer.

Location: Birmingham/London

Salary: Up to £45K.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Design solutions to meet technical, quality, time and cost requirements (SolidWorks CAD)
  • Undertaking appropriate calculations and analysis to prove suitability of mechanical designs
  • Producing engineering detail drawings and other associated documentation necessary for product certification, manufacture, installation and service
  • Verification, validation and development of designs from initial concept to volume manufacture
  • Working effectively with other company departments and external suppliers to realise complex technical solutions in a volume production environment
  • Any other duties deemed reasonable, which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role and level of responsibility.

Requirements:*

  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC or Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with suitable post-qualification experience within a Design & Development engineering environment.
  • Electro-mechanical design experience and knowledge
  • Design for Quality & Manufacturability experience
  • Sound engineering judgement
  • CAD literate
  • Highly analytical and methodical
  • Producing engineering details, Bills of Materials etc, to a consistent high standard
  • Sound understanding of geometric tolerances, tolerance analysis and other design principles which are critical to Quality
  • High degree of creative ability
  • Capable of self-starting and working effectively as part of a larger team
