Job Title: Mechanical & Electrical Engineer
Location: Edinburgh City Centre
Salary: £40,275 - £47,654 per year
Duration: Temporary roles with possibility of perm for the right candidate
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week, Mon - Fri

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake various projects related to operations and revenue maintenance works, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Collect, analyse, and manage M&E asset condition and service information for maintenance and budgetary planning.
  • Identify defects, rectify causes, and manage maintenance contracts, procurement, and budgeting.
  • Supervise Technical Officers and monitor work allocation to ensure quality output.
  • Provide technical building maintenance direction, support, and advice to FM staff, property managers, and suppliers.
  • Manage minor projects relating to building fabric from inception to completion.
  • Act as Project Manager/Team Leader on maintenance or new build projects as directed.
  • Develop, prioritize, and manage proactive and reactive M&E statutory and maintenance works to meet compliance obligations.
  • Ensure legislative compliance and coordinate long-term requirements with other services.
  • Provide expertise and advice on M&E services engineering, construction, maintenance, and statutory compliance.
  • Act as Principal Designer on all projects as required by CDM regulations.
  • Deputize or represent the Technical Operations Team as needed.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in M&E maintenance, including statutory, planned, and reactive repairs.
  • Professionally qualified with a relevant degree (e.g., Building Services Engineer) or equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Engineer with full membership of a relevant professional body preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements, project management, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven individual and team performance.
  • Full, clean driving licence required.
