Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services & Renewable Energy Projects

Central London (Office Based)

£40,000 - £65,000 + Vehicle & Allowances + Company Pension + Specialist Training + 33 Days Holiday + Holiday Purchase Options + Flexibility On Hours

Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with knowledge of Building Services, Heating or Energy projects and looking to join one of the UK's largest providers of turnkey solutions for the Energy sector in a role where no day will be the same?

This company has hundreds of employees spread across the UK and have established themselves as a leading EPC business within the Renewable Energy and Sustainability sectors, with projects covering things such as District Heating schemes as well as commercial and industrial-scale Solar PV and Heat Pump installations. They have exciting plans to grow by approximately 20% year-on-year supported by their reputation as an excellent business that is committed to the investment in their staff.

In this role you will be working within the company's design engineering department to manage and deliver mechanical designs for projects being run by various teams covering things such as Energy-from-Waste plants, Energy Centre layouts, Plantrooms, Water Treatment systems, Boilers, Pumps and Pipework.

The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level (preferably with Chartership) and will have demonstrable experience delivering mechanical designs for Heating, Energy or Building Services projects.

The Role:
* Office-based with some hybrid working (to be discussed with management)
* Involvement in all aspects of design process
* Supporting a range of projects such as District Heating schemes, Plantrooms, Energy Centres etc.
* Assisting with development of junior engineering staff
* Inputting into business development, bid and tender activities
* Reviewing costs and cost implications, lifecycle cost analysis etc.
* Assessing and interpreting client requirements
* Selecting equipment, carrying out calculations and producing specifications

The Person:
* Educated to Degree level in relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Building Services etc)
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards this (desirable)
* Strong knowledge of equipment used in Heating, Energy or Building Services sectors e.g plantrooms, boilers, pipework, etc.
* Any experience with Renewables highly advantageous
