MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Newton Aycliffe, by recruiting a permanent VAVE Business Development Engineer to join their organisation. A successful candidate will be responsible for leading the company’s value analysis and value engineering activity, across the business, whilst supporting product R&D, new business opportunities and all mechanical design and drawing office controls.

The Job You’ll Do;

  • Value Analysis existing products, processes and suppliers to support operational goals
  • Value Engineering new products, processes and suppliers to meet product road-map requirements
  • Project manage a number of tasks/activities to achieve VAVE objectives
  • Design and optimise to legislative, customer specification and business scope
  • Teardown, prototyping, test, evaluation and reporting
  • CAD/solid-modelling, CFD and FEA
  • DFMEA
  • Capability study, tolerance analysis and gauge R&R
  • Geometric tolerancing and tooling
  • Robust drawing office management; ownership of change control; phase-in/phase-out planning
  • Provide product technical resource to the business

About You;

  • BSc or BEng in Mechanical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Materials Technology or Science discipline
  • Knowledge and understanding of supplier CNC machining & stamping; plastic moulding & vacuum forming; potting and gel materials and general electronics assembly
  • Knowledge associated with assembly processes such as welding; robotic handling; calibration systems and metrology
  • Ability to plan, manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining priorities
  • Experience of supporting large CAPEX projects and new supplier development
  • Demonstrable experience developing and optimizing high-volume industrial products demonstrating a detailed understanding of the entire design and manufacturing process from customer requirements back to supplier capabilities (DFM)
  • A commitment to continuous professional development
