Mechanic

Redditch / Bromsgrove

6 month contract

£19+ per hour

Purpose

Maintain vehicles and equipment to deliver quality services meeting customer needs and council standards.

Tasks

Repair and service vehicles and equipment.

Conduct MOT tests and taxi inspections.

Respond to breakdowns and facilitate recovery.

Work flexibly across multiple sites and shifts.

Provide training for minor repairs.

Requirements

Experience in vehicle maintenance

Welding and diagnostic skills

Understanding of MOT standards

Good knowledge of Health and Safety

Relevant driving and licensing qualifications

Skills and Attributes

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Flexibility, reliability, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong commitment to safety and compliance

Positive attitude and willingness to learn
