Reed Further Education are currently working with a college based in Longbridge Birmingham who are offering a rewarding opportunity for a Maths Lecturer to deliver GCSE Maths to 13-19 years old students. This temporary ongoing position is ideal for an individual who is adept at managing challenging behaviour and is committed to providing high-quality education.

Job Title: Maths Lecturer

Position: Part-Time

Role type: Temporary ongoing

Location: Bordesley Green, Birmingham

Day to Day of the role:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging GCSE Maths lessons tailored to students outside of the mainstream education system.
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment to facilitate learning and student engagement.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to handle challenging behaviour constructively.
  • Assess student understanding and progress, providing feedback and additional support as needed.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to develop teaching materials and strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification i.e PGCE, AET, Cert Ed, etc.
  • Experience teaching GCSE Maths.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and passionate approach to teaching.
