Shorterm group are currently working with an international recognised airline company who are currently looking to take on a Stores and Materials manager for their maintenance facility based in Rhoose, Wales.

Key Experiences:
Previous managerial experiences in a Materials or stores environment.
Knowledge of Stores and Material departments.
Managerial qualification required.
SAP experienced required
Previous Stores manager is ideal.
Knowledge of Aviation standards and requirements is beneficial but not essential.

Role Overview:
As the Materials and Stores Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing material purchasing, planning, and distribution strategies. Your leadership will drive efficiency and accuracy in asset acquisition and disposal, load planning, and supplier relationships. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead long-term planning initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage material purchasing, planning, and distribution strategies to meet financial objectives and customer requirements.
Lead the acquisition and disposal of assets while generating profitable customer load in line with objectives.
Ensure efficient, accurate, and safe storage and distribution of aircraft material across our network.
Develop robust processes for buy/repair/scrap decisions to achieve best value consistently.
Lead and develop teams across Commercial, Materials, Planning, Storage, and Distribution.
Collaborate with Procurement for proactive supplier management and contract negotiation.
Implement policies, practices, and technologies to drive productivity and cost-saving initiatives.
Represent the company in supplier negotiations and commercial customer interfaces.

Scope:
People Management: 25
Budget: £15m External material spend £30m Inventory value

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Significant experience in managing complex Materials and Stores departments.
Strong understanding of business, budgetary management, and contract negotiation.
Knowledge of exports/imports, particularly in the aircraft industry, including customs and excise regulations.
Familiarity with EASA, FAA, and CAA requirements.
Proven track record in risk management, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
Excellent management and interpersonal skills with a focus on team development.
CIPS professional stage qualification and management qualification preferred.
Experience with SAP reporting processes or similar airworthiness compliance systems.
Knowledge of supplier management, engineering processes, and warranties.
