Reed Procurement are partnered with a growing manufacturer in the Newport area who are on the lookout for a Material Planner to join their Purchasing department. This role has a progression plan to develop the individual to ‘Buyer’ level within the business as they continue to grow. This role allows hybrid working and a flexible working environment for their employees.

Duties:

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
  • Updating the system Min/Max Systems.
  • Working with the stores team ensuring regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy on packaging, printed items and labels.

Material Planning and Procurement:

  • Collaborate with production planners and procurement teams to forecast material requirements.
  • Generate purchase orders when requested. Coordinate on procurement activities to ensure timely delivery of materials. Managing and placing purchase orders and requisitions as requested.
  • Managing the Free Issue of materials to suppliers, raising paperwork and coordinating shipments.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding material deliveries, discrepancies, and quality issues.
  • Resolve supplier-related issues and address any delivery delays or shortages.
