Location: Birchwood Way, Somercotes, Alfreton DE55 4QQ

Hours: Full Time. 37.5 hours per week.

Shifts: This role will operate over two alternating shifts. The morning shift - Monday to Friday 6.00am to 2.00pm and the afternoon shift - Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 12.20am.

What you'll be doing

our role as a Material Planner - Fabrics with DFS

At DFS we are looking for a Material Planner - Fabrics to join our growing Manufacturing team at our Doncaster Factory on a Permanent basis, working 39.0 Hours per Week.

As a Material Planner - Fabrics you will support the category controller to ensure the right supply of materials, for all sites, in order to meet both the short and long term requirements of the business. Ensure the products are ordered efficiently and effectively and incoming material supply / schedules are shared with relevant stakeholders. Maintain operational information, reports and metrics and be in regular communication with our suppliers so they understand our future demand.

This role will predominantly support with fabrics so a background in Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) and buying with relation to fabrics would be desirable but is not essential.

On occasion you may be required to travel between our sites in Alfreton, Doncaster, Long Eaton.

Great communication skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Able to manage and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Able to have difficult conversations with external suppliers

Ability to be able to collate and present information and data

Ability to manage and prioritise workloads

Experience / Qualifications

3 years experience in a similar role (Desirable not essential)

Experience of working with an MRP system

Experience and understanding of Stock Control methods
