Material and Aviation Stores Manager (interiors) - Cardiff- Competitive Salary

Shorterm group are currently working with an international airline who are currently looking to take on a Stores and Materials manager to oversee the inventory and Stores for all of the materials for aircraft interiors for their maintenance facility based in Rhoose, Wales.

Duties include:

*Monitoring the weekly and daily inventory sheets, incoming shipments and PO's.
*Arranging shipments for parts
*Monitoring and identifying any materials shortages
*Updating scrap reports and updating management
*Stock management reports.
*Manage budgets
*Manage shipments in company's ERP system, and other electronic formats
*Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and customs requirements for import/export activities related to aviation components.
*Ensure accurate paperwork completion as per customer, country and customs specific requirements
*Resolve all manner of import/export shipping queries/issues with commitment that the best solution is adopted and delivered
*Obtain, audit & process Import/Export entry data recognizing and logging errors accurately
*Control all stores, logistics, clearance, quality and customs related documentation, records, inboxes and comms
*Lead and manage a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure effective and efficient operations.
*Manage safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for warehouse staff
*Monitor and analyse costs, identify areas for improvement, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
*Negotiate rates with logistics providers to optimize freight expenses and minimize overheads.
*Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track warehouse performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
*Monday to Friday shift.

Experience required:

*Experience in stores management
*Managerial qualification
*Knowledge of and experience using SAP essential
*Experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on optimizing warehouse operation
*Knowledge of import/export regulations and experience with international shipping processes for aviation components.
*Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the workplace.
*Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team to achieve operational excellence.
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
*Knowledge of Export and Import procedures, controls, regulations, legislation and compliance highly desirable
*Experience of working in a warehouse/quality/logistics/supply chain/freight operations environment is desirable
*Proactive, self-motivated, flexible and driven to succeed in a busy environment
*Excellent communication skills at all levels, verbal and written
*Strong computer literacy, highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
*Ability to work well under pressure
