Job Opportunity: Social Worker - Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team

Location: South Tyneside

Are you a passionate and dedicated Social Worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children and families? We are currently seeking a committed individual to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team. As a member of this vital team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding children and young people at risk of harm or neglect.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of referrals received from various agencies, including police, health, education, and social care.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies to gather information and assess the level of risk to children and families.
  • Make timely and evidence-based decisions regarding the most appropriate course of action to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Provide support and guidance to professionals making referrals to the MASH, ensuring that all relevant information is included.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate multi-agency responses and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cases, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional development and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
  • Strong understanding of legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare, including the Children Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • DBS on Update service
  • Excellent assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive cases.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with children, families, and partner agencies.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced and dynamic team environment, prioritising workload and managing competing demands.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
