Marketing Manager

Our client, a busy distribution company, is looking for a Marketing Manager to support and help develop and manage multiple marketing elements of their key brands. The company is a successful and vibrant company and is entering the next phase of activity which includes new product development and brand extensions, and an ever-evolving marketing strategy to support the healthy brand awareness and continued growth.

The company is a family run company, managing three products which have an online presence, stockists in the UK and a rapidly growing export network.

Nature of Work Undertaken:

The company’s next phase of activity will include a focus on developing new markets with both existing and new products, increasing their customer base and generating awareness among a number of customer segments.

The successful candidate will work closely within the management team to increase brand awareness. This will largely be achieved through both online and offline marketing, exhibitions and endorsements. This role is perfect for a creative candidate, who has a willingness to actively contribute ideas within a small, dynamic team setting.

Roles & Responsibilities (this list is non-exhaustive):

Developing and implementing marketing campaigns

Working closely with creative agencies to develop marketing materials

Managing and measuring effectiveness of marketing activities

Managing and developing other team members

Conducting marketing research

Supporting the Managing Directors when necessary

Supporting the admin team during busy and holiday times

Liasing with Managing Directors to develop and achieve annual sales targets

Digital

Managing and updating company website

Analysing web and social media activity (Google Analytics, Facebook reports etc.)

Using google analytics to track, spot trends and report on effectiveness of digital marketing activities

Overseeing creating of news articles and press releases

Writing articles/posts and checking marketing copy

Attending events to generate awareness and build relationships with key stakeholders. This position involves occasionally attending relevant events on weekends.

Social Media management

Managing company’s social media channels

Utilising social management tools to plan posts and manage social media campaigns

Interacting with current and potential customers

Identifying key opinion leaders and distributing samples to increase product awareness and word-of-mouth recommendations.

Working closely with Social Media and Marketing assistant or Digital Apprentice

Coming up with new and innovative campaign ideas to engage with followers

Answering customer enquiries

Essential Requirements:

Relevant degree level qualification in marketing/business related field or at least 2 years of experience in a similar position

  • Knowledge of Google Analytics and reporting
  • Experience of overseeing/managing digital marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrable skills in social/digital media.
  • Should demonstrate a 'can do’ attitude and a commitment to delivering the best possible customer service

Should have excellent multitasking and organisational skills

  • A practical problem solver, who can think on their feet
  • Excellent communicator with interpersonal skills in both verbal and written formats
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Strong business acumen

Applicants must have (and be able to prove) the right to work in the UK]

Desirable requirements:

Video and/or event planning experience would be beneficial.

Should be enthusiastic about live music, gigs and festivals etc.

Experience of managing people

Full clean driving licence desirable

Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or other Adobe CS tools.

This role requires lateral thinking, regular communications 'round the clock’ and a high level of enthusiasm at all times

Candidates will be expected to work from the company’s office, though travel for work purposes may be required; working hours are 37.5 per week. Due to the nature of the role, some evening and weekend work will be required.
