Manufacturing Team Leader
Job Title: - Manufacturing Team Lead
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Hours - 7am - 4pm Monday to Friday
Location - East Hampshire/West Sussex Border
Salary - £19-£20 per Hour (41.25 Hour per week)
My client are an an automotive specialist servicing all aspects of their community. Operating for over 20 years, the business trades on three key strengths:
- Parts manufacture and supply
- Workshop specialising in servicing, restoring and rally preparation
- Vehicle sales and sourcing
Role Summary:
- Oversight of the CNC and toolroom manufacturing resource
- Workload scheduling, internal parts movements, inspection & quality control within an ISO9001 environment
- Support manufacture of components and assemblies using manual machining & bench fitting skills.
- Support inventory control of workshop activity.
Key Responsibilties:
- Ensure Health and Safety regulations are met and safe working practices are adhered to
- Working to agreed manufacturing priorities and production schedules
- Liaise with Engineering Manager to identify priorities; complete all necessary production control records & timesheets
- Identify and assist with purchasing requirements; expediting of purchase orders to maintain delivery schedules
- Support engineering manager to validate purchasing decisions ie cost; leadtime
- Ensure quality standards of manufactured items
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Experience and Skills Required:
- Time served apprenticeship trained machinist, fitter or toolmaker
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in similar role
- Supervisory experience, with a flexible, responsive & collaborative approach
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- MS Office suite experience, Outlook; Excel.
- Expertise in toolroom techniques
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of issues, with a proactive can-do attitude
