A leading design and manufacturing business are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join their team of 50 people, the role is based in Thetford, Norfolk. As a member of the management team, you will take a lead in providing project management support necessary for the effective and successful day-to-day operations of the business.

Purpose of role:

To take personal ownership and responsibility for the effective handover of projects from sales to

customer. Managing a team of three, you will develop, implement and manage customer projects

through to completion. Whilst supplying on time, quality products within budget and to customer

complete satisfaction.

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a project manager in the POP or Retail Displays market;
  • Project planning, resource management, change management, budget management supply chain and procurement management;
  • Managing projects throughout complete project lifecycle;
  • Highly organised with strong time management and able to work under pressure;
  • Good commercial understanding and knowledge of pricing and costing;
  • Knowledge of project management concepts and principles gained through practical experience;
  • Project management qualification; e.g., PRINCE2;
  • Highly developed IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a flexible approach and the ability to influence and motivate others and able to build working relationships.
  • Experience in a diverse and busy team environment;
  • Results focussed, motivated and like to take ownership of tasks and projects;
  • Great at paying attention to detail with a strong eye for detail;
  • Keen on developing existing skills as well as learning new ones

Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the in-house sales team to ensure a smooth, accurate and complete transition of sales projects via our 'why meetings’.
  • Discuss brief and be the point of contact for project queries and progress updates;
  • Manage project lead-times, free issue of materials, point of sale material, graphics, labels, packaging and artwork;
  • Coordinate and manage customer rollout schedules and delivery programs;
  • Maintain customer communications on project progress and lead-times etc.
  • Oversee the purchasing of materials within budget, securing the best product and material prices;
  • Oversee your team as the point of contact for supplier queries;
  • Liaise with the operations manager to allocate the required production capacity and build the production plan.
  • Working with the design and production teams to ensure the quality of protypes;
  • Prepare project plans based on Bill of Materials and production timings;
  • Production scheduling, preparation of paperwork and job packs;
  • Resolve problems or discrepancies that occur during production;
  • Overview and monitor the supply chain logistics to ensure on time, right first-time delivery
  • Overview and monitor project progress to ensure projects remain on schedule and all milestone are achieved;
  • Team management and motivation, conducting regular staff check-ins and setting project objectives and individual goals for the five reports.
  • To establish consultation with other parts of the organisation, to ensure the effective completion of projects.
  • Formulate and update project plans and maintain schedules using the company software.
  • Report project progress to all stakeholders, ensuring any questions are answered in a timely manner
