Manual Machinist

Manual Machinist required for a robotics manufacturer based in Leek.

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with a precision engineering background to join our machine shop team. You must have experience in Manual Boring, horizontal and vertical.

Manual Machinist Position Overview

• Manual machining - Vertical boring and horizontal boring
• Work as part of a team or by themselves
• Use precision measuring equipment.
• Be forward thinking and have a positive approach to setting, fixturing, and machining and be able to make suggestions for improvements / decreasing machining time.
• Follow instructions and work unsupervised.
• Read and understand engineering drawings.

Manual Machinist Position Requirements

• Previous experience within a similar position
• Experience with Boring, Manual Turning or Milling
• Must live within a commutable distance of Leek.

Manual Machinist Position Remuneration

• Full time, permanent position available with an immediate start.
• Monday - Thursday 8am until 5pm and Fridays 7:30am until 4pm.
• Holiday entitlement - 17 days + 8 bank holidays.
• The company has a shutdown over the Christmas period for 3 days in Christmas week.
• Salary is £15 - £17 per hour depending on experience
