Managing Quantity Surveyor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor in Herfordshire. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will be joining a well regarded name, renown for delivering high profile, complex infrastructure projects safely, on time and within budget.

The Managing Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the delivery of more than 20km of high speed rail infrastructure. This includes nearly 4km of viaducts, a 16km twin-bored tunnel, shafts, headhouses, relocation of existing utilities assets and more.

Some of the Managing Quantity Surveyor's key duties will include:

• Provide commercial support to the Project Leadership team, commercial director and the wider commercial team,
• Negotiating t&c's with suppliers and subcontractors
• Reviewing and processing payments for interim and final accounts
• Prepare and submit interim applications for payment
• Notification of early warnings, compensation events and submission of quotations
• Risk management
• Provide support and mentoring to the wider commercial team, supporting others with the development of their own careers

• Starting salary of £70,000 to £87,000

Requirements

• Previous experience working for a main contractor on a large infrastructure or civil engineering project
• Familiar with managing teams
• Familiar with the NEC suite of contracts
• Excellent communication skills
