As Managing Director of this business you will develop and lead the strategic direction of the business, being accountable for key performance results and the achievements of the business’s growth and profitability plans.

You will maintain commercial awareness of the market, industry, and client base with which to make pivotal decisions affecting the future of the company, its advisers, employees, and clients. The role will oversee the effective operational and financial management of the business to make sure it achieves its objectives efficiently and effectively, and act as the main point of contact between the Board and other key stakeholders.

The role holder will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and fostering long-term relationships, supporting the growth of the business.

Package £135,000 (excluding Benefits) plus car allowance £600 per month

Key Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Develop and deliver the practice's business strategies, ensuring their alignment with local objectives and SJP goals.
  • Provide strategic advice to key practice stakeholders so that they have an accurate view of the market and the company’s future.
  • Overseeing and ensuring the effective operational management of the business, to include its people, finances, technology and other resources to ensure optimum efficiency of the business.
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated, understood and applied across the whole business at all times.
  • Support direct and aid in the development of the business and to deliver excellent client servicing and the business’s sales plan.
  • Develop, implement and track strategic plans to expand the company’s customer base, identifying key areas for growth in partnership and collaboration with the advisers skills and areas of expertise.
  • Ensuring adherence to regulatory, financial and legal obligations, in-house policies and other controls to maintain the company’s legality, business ethics and mitigate risk.
  • Contribution/project participation in other activities as agreed and/or directed by the board from time-to-time.

Requirements of the Job:

People Management Responsibilities:

Lead, develop and create a rewarding place to work for all advisers and support specialist roles in the business. Work with the Senior Management Team to deliver an exceptional people experience to all those engaged in the business. As a line manager, you will be the main point of contact for your individual team(s) and responsible for the development and implementation of business continuity plans and procedures which will lead to a controlled recovery following an incident which jeopardises the company’s critical business operations.

Job Knowledge:

As an experienced business leader with a strong strategy orientation and entrepreneurial mindset, this role requires knowledge of the UK financial services landscape and developments within the wealth management industry, market trends and client needs/expectations with which to make pivotal strategic decisions.

The role will need to have knowledge of business management, corporate governance and familiarity with various business functions such as marketing, finance and HR with which to manage the operational business effectively. The post holder will have a clear understanding of the business drivers that improve revenue, efficiency and reduce cost, and knowledge of developing, planning and implementing profitable strategies and implementing vision.
